Our school is owned and operated by Shihan Monte Allen, a 6th degree black belt in Karate. He has been teaching karate for more than 25 years.Shihan has a 3rd-degree black belt in Jodo and traveled to Japan in March 2003 to study with his Jodo master. Shihan Monte has also studied Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, and Iaido.

September, 2008 marked his 20th anniversary of teaching in his own dojo in Park Slope, Brooklyn. He is an accomplished photographer of nature and landscapes. Another of his passions is gardening, with orchids and bonsais being his specialty. He created the Boxeo Caliente and Skabox exercise programs, blending karate with safe and fun aerobics, stretching and meditation. He has participated in tournaments internationally; most recently Abu Dhabi, Japan and Thailand.
