Shihan Monte Allen

6th Degree Black Belt

Monte Allen's Brooklyn Kenshikai Karate Dojo
has a family atmosphere. Students of all ages learn at a pace suited to their own individual needs. Respect and discipline are a large part of our training, as well as rigorous but safe physical exercise.
Kenshikai Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art which promotes physical fitness, self defense, self improvement and achieving the unity of mind body and spirit through hard work, self discipline and a syllabus that is both challenging and inspiring.

We offer a flexible schedule of both adult (ages 16 years of age and older) and children's (ages 5–15) classes. Feel free to stop by and observe a class. We also invite you to try a FREE CLASS (click here for printable coupon) before you decide to enroll. Our karate classes are taught by Shihan Monte Allen, a 6th-degree black belt who has studied karate for over 30 years. Shihan Monte has also studied Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Iaido and holds a rank of Sandan in the art of Jodo.

He is assisted in the instruction of classes by a group of highly qualified black belts. Classes are conveniently scheduled in the late afternoon/early evening during the week and on weekends in the morning for both children and adults.

We are located at 421 5th Avenue (on the corner of 8th Street) in Park Slope, in the BAX (Brooklyn Arts Exchange) building. For more info, email us at monteallenkarate@aol.com.
